I'm a 4th year grad student that grew up around Pasadena, CA before heading to Washington University in St. Louis for undergrad. After graduating from WashU in 2012 (major in biology and minors in psychology and finance), I took a year off to do more research at UCLA. I joined the IGP in 2013 and Ariel's lab/the neuroscience program in the spring of 2014. If and when Ariel lets me out of the lab I like to try new restaurants and explore Nashville with friends.
My project is aimed at examining the role of microglia in dendritic spine pruning in the prefrontal cortex during adolescence, and how exaggeration of this process may contribute to the emergence of schizophrenic-like behaviors in the adult. |
